Program Space & Learning Materials
Spark Early Learning is located in a detached family home within the Rosemount area of Kitchener. The home is both smoke and pet free.
The main program space is located in a large bright room on the main floor. This space is set up so part of the room provides a fully childproofed play area, and the kitchen and a full bathroom are steps away.
The program space is currently set up to meet the needs of toddler aged children. The space be will changed and adapted as the group ages.
Space for sleeping is made available upstairs in a guest bedroom. Children can sleep either in a playpen or cot, dependent on their needs.
There is a large backyard with trees for outdoor play, with areas of shade both in the morning and afternoon.
Spark Early Learning values providing children with open-ended toys and a variety of learning materials, including loose parts and items that were not originally toys.
The intent is to provide children with access to materials that have a multitude of uses with the goal to encourage curiosity, creativity, and imaginative play.
The learning environment is set up, including what materials are provided, based on inspiration from the Montessori, Reggio Emelia, and Waldorf approaches to early learning.
